Shaker Trace Nursery
Harvesting native seeds and plants to restore local habitats
Established in 1992, Shaker Trace Nursery is one of Ohio's largest native seed and plant nurseries, specializing in more than 200 prairie and wetland species. Through the years, the nursery has harvested thousands of pounds of native seed, which has been used to restore habitats across Hamilton County. Great Parks completed major renovations in May 2026, significantly expanding the facility's production capacity and its ability to support conservation work throughout the Cincinnati region. The nursery is now open to the public, offering classes and hands-on workshops teaching the importance of native plants for healthy ecosystems. The campus features a greenhouse, seed processing facility, program and event venue, seed production rows and a paved connection to the Shaker Trace Outer Loop Trail.
